CronniX
What is Cronnix?
CronniX is an Aqua frontend to the powerful Unix tool "cron". Cron is a Unix system service that allows scheduled execution of scripts, programs, applications - in short anything that can be started from the command line. This includes OSX applications and AppleScripts.
CronniX and Leopard
CronniX is compatible with OSX 10.5 "Leopard". See the FAQ page for more info.

I've included Damien's translations as it was the latest -- in order to prevent folks from independently translating CronniX please always check back with me if there's an updated localized variant that's not released yet. There have been several occasions where I had to choose between translations and believe me there's little justice I can do your fine work with most of the languages you translate CronniX to :))
- Included all remaining localizations
October 6, 2004: CronniX 3.0b1 released (beta release)
- New crontab parsing: preserving unknown/unparsable content
- Drag and drop of tasks and environment variables (within CronniX and cross applications)
- Note that this is a beta release. It works for me and passes the test suite but being careful doesn't hurt :)

January 31, 2003: Disk images include German, Japanese, and Welsh resources
The downloadable disk images now include the German, Japanese, and Welsh resources. If you use one of those languages as your main language you don't need to fiddle with the separate resource downloads.
January 30, 2003: Donations accepted
Now don't panic, CronniX is not going to be crippleware or nagware or any kind of not-real-freeware. See the Donate section for details on the why and how or decide to ignore this news item and keep using CronniX as you have.
January 29, 2003: Japanese localization available thanks to E-WA
Download: Japanese.lproj disk image. See the Welsh localization news item below for installation instructions.
January 27, 2003: Welsh localization available thanks to Lloyd Smart
Installation: Get the Welsh.lproj disk image and mount it. Right (or control) click on CronniX in the Finder and select 'Show Package Contents'. Go to 'Contents'. Copy the mountet 'Welsh.lproj' folder into the CronniX 'Resources' folder by holding the option key and dropping the mounted image in the 'Resources' folder. Restart CronniX to get the Welsh version.
(Translators, please provide installation instructions in your language as I've just run out of languages :-)
As soon as there are more translations, I will bundle them in another minor release.
January 20, 2003: Found and fixed
The system crontab crash has been found and fixed in version 2.0.2. Really :-)
January 20, 2003: Sytem crontab woes
My claim that 2.0.1 fixes the crashing bug when opening the system crontab was premature. I still get user reports that CronniX unexpectedly quits. The really strange thing is that CronniX seems to always crash on your machines while it (almost) never crashes on two of my machines. I have actually seen the crash but I can't reliably reproduce it.
I've actually had a friend who's been crashing reliably start a debugging session only to find out that the crashes went away once the debugger (successfully) stepped through the offending methods. I have drawn some conclusions from that but it hasn't brought me much closer to actually solving (or even understanding) the problem yet.
For the time being I have added the 1.5.1 binaries in the downloads section again. I will try to fix this problem as soon as possible.
January 19, 2003: Version 2.0.1 released. See the Release Notes for details
November 8, 2002: Help bug info:
There's still a problem with CronniX Help. While I fixed Help for Jaguar in CronniX 1.5.1, I broke it for Puma systems (10.1.x). I will fix Help for both OS verions in 2.0. Until then, please download CronniX 1.5 for 10.1.x and CronniX 1.5.1 for Jaguar.
Please note: the two versions differ only in how they handle help.
September 27, 2002: Version 1.5.1 released
New features:
- Fixed Help bug under OS X 10.2 Jaguar. The online help would not show after selecting the Help menu item.
June 24, 2002: Version 1.5 source released under GPL
I've been promising this for quite a while now but it's taken quite some time to wrap this up. Note that these are the sources for the latest release version. CronniX has progressed quite a bit on its way to 2.0 in the meantime, but this version is not ready for public release yet. I am considering releasing a beta version "soon" (as in "freeware-soon" :-).
There's also a new "Samples/Hints" section where I post sample crontab entries. I rely on user input on this one!
